Table XI joined forces with Chicago Ideas again this year, this time as the organization’s official technology partner. We’re proud to be so closely associated with an iconic Chicago organization associated with innovation, thought leaders, and a community of curiosity.
When you attend an event this year, you might see our logo up in lights. And when you do, you may notice something different: We’ve added a tagline, “Tech Done Right.” But what does that mean, exactly?
Tech done right is the distillation of our core focus: Doing right by our clients, our people, and our community.
With respect to our clients, it means working with clients to define business goals, discover immediate needs and opportunities, and articulate the long term vision. It means delivering minimally viable products that allow us to start getting user feedback immediately, and iterate continuously towards eventual success. It means choosing the right tools for the job, and applying them in a craftsman-like way to deliver elegant solutions that serve as a foundation for years to come.
With respect to our people, it means treating people the way we would like to be treated. It means working at a sustainable pace to foster vibrant lives for our employees. It means clearly articulating our values and holding ourselves accountable to them. It means hiring smart, motivated, talented people and getting out of their way so that they can do their job creatively.
With respect to our community, it means bringing the skills of our people and the experience and financial resources of our organization to support the communities, both virtual and tangible in which we live and work. It means sending staff to speak and sponsoring technology industry conferences, and supporting Chicago-area mission-driven organizations with generous “low-bono” engagements.
The most exciting moments at Table XI are when we have the opportunity to demonstrate "tech done right" across all three dimensions, simultaneously. Chicago Ideas has provided us an incredible platform on which to really embody our values on a broader stage.
Last year, we had the opportunity to build the web and mobile ticketing system and sponsor portal for Chicago Ideas Week. This year, we had the opportunity to re-envision the customer-facing website. We redesigned chicagoideas.com with a responsive design that displays beautifully across platforms, and a visual design that makes it easy to explore archives and upcoming events. We also implemented a content management system on the site that empowers the CIW administrative team to update their site without our help.
Tech done right: It’s an ambitious goal that requires a truly collaborative relationship. It’s our honor and pleasure to have had a chance to work with the brilliant CIW team again this year and we look forward to continuing our collaboration for years to come.
